Born on the ranch June ’23, of 2 mustangs, Chicala and Shadow (totally a whoopsie Baby).
Buena Ventura (Good Fortune)
2 year old BLM Mustang from 3-Mile HMA.
Axle and Buena Ventura
Ribbon winners in the ’23 Montana Mustang Challenge. BLM mustangs off the 3-Mile HMA. Gentlest ‘stangs in the herd.
Shadow Warrior aka Shadow
Came to us as an orphan at 4 months old, a mustang off the Yakima reservation. He hid behind his sister and looked like a shadow. He became brave and fancies himself the herd boss, though he’s not.
Veteran's Hope, aka Rocket, aka Rock-it
7 year-old BLM Mustang from 3-Mile HMA. He gets the award for most fearful, most explosive, and most wanting-to-connect horse. Angie’s challenge and hope.
Nessie (right), 12 y o.
Haflinger from Pennsylvania. Likes to go slow or not go at all. Used to be the herd boss but became a timid underdog who is kinder than before.
Beau
13 year old quarterhorse. Semi-retired barrel racer. Tallest horse and also the herd boss
Zippo Smooth Move, aka Smoothie
Our only registered quarter horse, our oldest horse at 29, and our only pasture pet (meaning she can’t be ridden due to injuries and just eats and lays in the sun like a good retired horse).
Snuffy the BLM burro
At 2 years young he’s an old soul who comfortintuatively. We borrow him from Montana Mustang and Burro Connection whenever we can as a support animal for those touch moments when you just need a Snuffy hug!
Clueless the Cow
2 year old Holstein/Angus cross. He’s not the smartest guy in the pasture but he’s the friendliest.
Foster, aka The Foof
Most empathic dog award. Probably a poet in another lifetime.
Max the Protector
Purebred German Shepherd gifted from a Marine corps family who needed one less animal. 6 y o but acts 12 unless you throw a stick or put on a sprinkler, then he’s a puppy again. Favorite job: guarding kittens.
Henry
7 month old Blue Heeler/Dalmation cross. Knows he’s the cutest thing on earth.
Little Dog
Terrier mix street dog rescue, 6 years old. Thinks he’s the cutest dog ever. Will lick you forever if you let him.
