Speranza Springs Ranch, nestled beneath the Mission Mountains and shaped by Montana’s ever-changing landscape, is a sanctuary for veterans—a place to explore mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual healing in their own time and way.
The ranch stands on a multicultural family legacy of resilience and hope. Over 150 years ago, my great-grandparents left their Swiss village for a new life in America, determined to build a future with their own hands.
Fast forward, and I, too, followed a path forged by hope, escaping a difficult past with only 75 cents, a bag of dried apples, and a promise to find peace.
Decades later, after surviving trauma, overcoming immense personal challenges, and earning a PhD, I signed papers on this ranch—a dream realized through hard work and unwavering hope.
This hope flows through Speranza Springs, nourishing the land, the animals, and the people who call it home. It’s visible in the creeks that water the horses, in the grass that sustains the ranch, and in my children’s smiles as they care for orphaned calves.
Named for the Italian word “Speranza,” meaning “hope,” the ranch embodies the strength and renewal my family has carried through generations.
At Speranza Springs, we invite you to connect with nature, find peace, and see yourself anew. Let go, embrace the wild, and let the stars guide your journey toward healing and renewal.
Angie Mallory is the heart and soul of Speranza Springs Ranch. A veteran and communication researcher at the University of Maryland, Angie’s story is one of resilience, humor, and deep connection.
Having experienced the isolation and challenges that come with being a veteran, Angie found healing in the rhythms of ranch life and the companionship of wild mustangs.
Her time in academia taught her the importance of community and communication, but her love for the ranch runs deeper than any professional title.
Known for her down-to-earth personality, Angie is as likely to offer you a warm loaf of her homemade bread as she is to share a story around the fire.
Her genuine approach to life is reflected in everything she does—whether she’s training mustangs, connecting with guests, or simply sitting on the porch enjoying the beauty of a peaceful sunrise.
For Angie, Speranza Springs isn’t just a ranch—it’s a labor of love, a place where she can offer hope to others the way it’s been offered to her.
Her greatest joy is watching the eyes of her guests light up as they experience the magic of the ranch.
She’s passionate about creating an environment that fosters growth, reflection, and connection, welcoming everyone who visits with open arms and an open heart.
